We work diligently at maximizing production for crops while minimizing the cost of production. We do this by using field scale trials to determine what products, genetics, and practices work best on our farm. By combining these methods with the latest advancements in technology, we continue to meet and exceed our production goals.
We place importance on educating ourselves, but also in sharing this information with fellow farmers. We partner with local agriculture distributors to host the “Field of Dreams” tour that is held annually on our farm. It is an opportunity to share trial results from previous years and showcase the current trials that are focused on new genetics, applications, and variable fertilizer rates.
It is also important for us to educate the next generation on the importance of farming and teaching kids where their food comes from. We host a Food Farm in the spring and fall on our farm. This is an interactive, hands-on tour focusing on farm safety, how plants are grown and harvested, and how food gets to their plate.
Family and agriculture are our cornerstones. We have been fortunate to have exceptional mentors and role models who imparted valuable farming knowledge and life lessons. Jordan’s father and uncle ignited his passion for agriculture. Through careful succession planning, we secured the farm’s future, purchasing shares from relatives in 2014 and again in 2019. We still graciously accept their expertise and help during seeding and harvest!
All four of our kids participate in all farm activities. It is important that they are hands-on and learn all aspects of the farm, from the field to the kitchen. We take great pride in being able to continue their century-family farm and are passionate about maintaining the family aspect in the everchanging corporate farm environment.
We continue to challenge and expand our knowledge of ways to improve our farming practices. We are dedicated to ensuring that we will maintain a family atmosphere on our farm, and continue educating and sharing our passion for agriculture with the next generation. The daily operations happen because we have an amazing team who work together to ensure that our farm is running efficiently. We are fortunate to have a team who cares for our land and farm the way we do!
